9 Days Best of Kenyan Wildlife Adventure Private Safari
This nine-day, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli National Park tour starts with a day in Nairobi and an option of spending a night at the splendid Giraffe Manor. A great adventure to Kenya’s finest parks which leaves travelers fully satisfied – especially with all the inclusions, sightseeing and game viewing we have to offer! This is an excellent safari for honeymooners and families.
On your arrival at the airport you will be met by our representative and driven to David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you will interact with orphaned baby elephants for an hour.
Later, proceed to Giraffe Centre where you will interact, feed and even kiss the endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe therafter proceed to Carnivore restaurant for your carnivore lunch experience.
After lunch, proceed to Bomas of Kenya, where you will be exposed to the rich Kenyan culture and informed about the traditional dances of all forty-two Kenyan tribes.
Later you will be dropped at After 40 Hotel for overnight and breakfast, alternatively you can opt to stay at giraffe manor for your overnight. Here you are going to experience great excitement when taking your meals, as giraffes will be sticking their necks through the windows! This is an option that goes at an extra cost of USD700 per person.
After breakfast at After 40 Hotel, leave Nairobi and drive north to Samburu National Reserve. You will arrive at around 1400 hours in time for lunch. After lunch proceed on an afternoon game drive in the park famous for its Samburu semi-nomadic tribesman, the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, beisa oryx and a host of big game including elephants and lions. Dinner and overnight will be at Samburu Umoja Camp/similar.
After breakfast proceed for a game drive in this lush northern region. The water of the Ewaso Ny’iro River attracts a profusion of game and this area is known for the rare species of wildlife that are endemic. On this day you can choose between two options. Either have a full day game drive from 8am to 4pm (with a packed lunch served inside the park) or have morning and evening game drives with a lunch back at the lodge. Dinner and overnight will be at Samburu Umoja Camp/similar.
Cross the equator as you drive southwards to Lake Nakuru National Park. Pass through the scenic Thomson Falls, Rift Valley viewpoint and Menengai Crater. Lake Nakuru is a soda lake whose waters are often covered by a living carpet of thousands of flamingos. Its plains are home to the lion, both white and black rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and large herds of waterbuck and many other animals.. Dinner and overnight will be at Hotel Citymax/Lanet Matfam Resort/Similar.
After a refreshing breakfast proceed on a game drive en route to the might Masai Mara, one of Kenya’s best-loved parks. Each year the Mara is a staging ground for the fascinating great migration, one of the most awe-inspiring natural events in the world. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be at Mara Manyatta/Rhino/Miti Mingi Eco Camp.
This full day is spent game viewing. After breakfast, leave your camp with a picnic lunch in hand and start exploring this park in search of the Big Five. Stop for visit by the Mara River to experience the wildebeest migration. After your game drive, you will meet with a Masai Moran and visit a Masai village with him. You will join in singing and dancing and admire the Masai people’s beautiful beadwork and brilliant clothes. Dinner and overnight will be at Mara Manyatta/Rhino/Miti Mingi Eco Camp.
After breakfast, depart and drive to Lake Naivasha where you arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, spend the evening on a boat ride to crescent island or at your own leisure in the hotel. Here you can admire the resident wildlife in the compound, including zebras, vervet monkeys and waterbucks. Dinner and overnight will be at Taphe Guest House.
Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenyan-Tanzanian border. The park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m). Its snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli is often referred to as “The Home of Elephants” as some of the largest elephant herds are found here. The park also contains vast groups of zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalos, hippos and antelopes. Also to be found in Amboseli are lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos and many species of plain game. Dinner and overnight will be at Kimana Amboseli Tented Camp.
Have an early breakfast and then have a game drive as you make your way out of the park. Lunch will be served en-route before transferring to the airport in time for your flight. If accommodation is required on this day we can book it for you at After 40 Hotel.
